As the successful candidate you will be responsible for performing EMC testing on a wide variety of vehicle applications in accordance with various international standards and OEM test specifications.  Working within the EMC Vehicle Delivery Team you will ensure tests are delivered to schedule and to HORIBA-MIRA quality standards.

Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Testing of Automotive / Military products and systems in EMC Laboratories (Passenger Vehicles, Truck, Bus, Agricultural, Off-highway, and Military)
  • Detailed reviews of test specifications and test plans (prior to and during test)
  • Executing the tests in accordance with HORIBA MIRA procedures
  • Maintain detailed and accurate log books, test records and photographs
  • Perform quality checks and data analysis on test deliverables
  • Communication : Technical lead liaison
  • Communication : Operations team liaison
  • Communication : Customer liaison
  • DUT set up and strip down via a twin axle dynamometer
  • Following and understanding Risk Assessments
  • Deliver all work in accordance with UKAS / ISO 17025 / relevant standards
  • Support double or triple shift rotas (rotates each week)
  • Shift work is a prerequisite
  • Full driving licence prerequisite




Essential Experience 

  • Electrical engineering background
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate
  • Familiar with use of various test equipment (oscilloscopes, voltmeters, signal generators, RF receivers)

Preferred Experience

  • Automotive electrical / mechanical background
  • EMC / RF experience
  • Shift work
  • Vehicle electrical architecture / CAN familiarity
  • Health & safety / manual handling / risk assessment awareness

Essential Qualifications 

  • ONC/D (BTEC level 3) in electrical / electronic engineering or related qualifications

Preferred Qualifications 

  • HNC/D (BTEC level 4) in electrical / electronic engineering
  • Related qualifications
  • Equivalent time served experience
