Description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Marketing Specialist for Events within our Marketing department. The team is made up of 7 members with specialisms spanning content creation, communications, digital marketing and events. Reporting to the Head of Marketing Communications your main purpose will be:

 

  • To continuously improve the development and execution of HORIBA MIRA’s owned events – this includes physical and/or virtual events
  • To negotiate preferential involvement and manage HORIBA MIRA’s participation in paid and earned events – this includes physical and/or virtual events
  • To be responsible for all aspects of on-site events where HORIBA MIRA is ‘on-show’ or the needs are complex / strategically important e.g. HORIBA or key customer event
  • To support the growth of HORIBA MIRA’s commercial on-site events business
  • To support the promotion of events using relevant digital platforms, tools and methods
  • To represent HORIBA MIRA within global HORIBA event-related steering groups and key external marketing groups e.g. Zenzic 

Key Functions of Role

  • In line with business priorities and objectives, research relevant events in UK and overseas markets to identify opportunities for HORIBA MIRA participation
  • Produce detailed justification proposals for events (e.g. timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets) to present to senior team members
  • Plan and execute all earned and paid events, selecting and working with appropriate suppliers where required
  • Look for ways to continuously improve event delivery from selection through to post-event analysis
  • Determine and manage the annual event budget based on commercial needs
  • Look for opportunities, sell and deliver on-site events at MIRA to commercial customers
  • Develop innovative ways to promote the events and liaise with marketing and PR colleagues to implement ideas
  • Deliver pre-event briefings to ensure all personnel are fully aware of the schedule, etiquette and business development requirements
  • Produce post-event evaluation reports, making recommendations and suggestions for future attendance, data capture and analysis and promotion of HORIBA MIRA
  • Maintaining and reporting on key KPIs that aid future planning 

Please note:

  • This is a hybrid-working role – on-site / at home as required
  • You must be able to work flexibly at short notice and be able to travel overseas, staying overnight as required
  • You must be able to drive and willing to drive a minibus on public roads and our Proving Ground
  • 1 direct report
Experience
  • Demonstrable experience in planning and executing large, multi-party events
  • Event sales experience – promoting and selling venues to pre-determined commercial targets
  • Confident communicating with senior-level personnel, inc. external (e.g. customers), VIPs (e.g. government ministers), and people from different cultures
  • Places a high importance on excellent customer service
  • Ability to work professionally and to prioritise within a busy working environment
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in a B2B organisation

Qualifications
  • Relevant event, marketing and project management qualifications
