Description

The Test Support Services team are looking for a Instrumentation Calibration Engineer to join their busy team at HORIBA MIRA.  

HORIBA MIRA is a global provider of pioneering engineering, research and test services to the automotive, defence, aerospace and rail sectors. We work in close collaboration with vehicle manufacturers and suppliers around the world, providing comprehensive support ranging from individual product tests to turnkey engineering design, development and build programmes.

The key function of this role is to provide support to the Calibration Technicians and develop Calibration methods using Fluke MetCal software systems. Previous experience of working in an ISO 17025 accredited Laboratory would be advantageous as this role will need to be an approved UKAS signatory.

Please note:

  • Some working at other UK MIRA Sites may be required.
  • Some working in other departments within Passive Safety may be required from time to time.
Experience

Essential experience

  • 2 years in a similar role within a multi-parameter Calibration Laboratory
  • Working knowledge of ISO 17025:2017

Preferred experience

  • 5 years in a similar role within a multi-parameter UKAS accredited Calibration Laboratory
Skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to program using Fluke MetCal software is essential to this role
  • Advanced user of MS Excel is essential to this role
  • Able to carry out technical assessments of calibration procedures in order to ensure compliance with current standards
  • Ability to manage his/herself (in terms of self-awareness and self-control) and their relationships with others.
  • Good English based communication skills.
  • Good timekeeping.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of Level 4/Degree qualification in Electrical / Electronic Engineering including Mathematics
