A vacancy has arisen in our Vehicle Climatic and Aerodynamic Facilities for a technician, to be involved in the set up and testing of vehicles in climatic conditions, in addition to the ongoing maintenance and development of the facilities.

Experience

Essential Experience

  • Extensive vehicle and rig fitting experience, and ability to work under demanding conditions
  • Ability to run complex computer-controlled facilities and collect and process data in electronic format
  • Customer contact experience is an important part of this role

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of vehicle HVAC, powertrain and cooling systems
  • Experience of working with chassis dyno systems
Skills
  • Deliver accurate and qualified test data, liaise directly with customers and Engineers
  • Use initiative and employ appropriate innovation to work tasks
  • Facility maintenance and housekeeping
  • Follow work instructions with high attention to detail and quality
  • Enthusiasm and drive to deliver on time
  • Organised and methodical
  • Practical; proficient with hand tools and equipment
  • Effective communicator, with the ability to problem solve
  • Delivery-focused and highly motivated, capable of handling multiple priorities and working alone as well as part of a high-performing team
  • Competent with MS Office
  • Must be proactive at solving problems and finding solutions to tasks
  • Maintain excellent Health & Safety standards and ensure that company quality standards are adhered to
  • Have excellent mechanical and fabrication skills
  • Have good attention to detail
  • Be competent with the ability to work alongside customer engineers, MIRA engineers or unsupervised to carry out test/build instructions
  • Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to integrate into a team working environment
  • Must be prepared to work extended hours or shift pattern as required, and be part of an emergency call out rota
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
•    C&G Craft Studies or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
•    Craft or Technician Engineering Apprenticeship
