Description

Connected & Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) represents a major global market opportunity. HORIBA MIRA has created a new offering to provide a response to this new market demand. There is an opportunity for ADAS Test Engineers and Technicians to work with ADAS and Autonomous Vehicles technology and the testing of the associated new systems.

The purpose of this role is to support the development and delivery of test and validation activities and

  • Perform the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment and facilities.
  • Safeguard QHSE standards associated with ADAS Test equipment and workshop. 

Key Functions of the role include (but not limited too)

  • Prepare and install equipment in test vehicles and proving ground-based test equipment
  • Assist in performing tests using various test equipment including data acquisition systems and robotic driver systems
  • Ensure good stock of consumables and arrange repairs as needed
  • Help deliver improvements to equipment and methods of working
  • Maintain and ensure appropriate calibration and or maintenance of test equipment
  • Maintain the workshop QHSE board with latest relevant information
  • Demonstrate excellence in everything you do
  • Maintain customer interaction at highest standards.
Experience

Essential

  • Technician/mechanic in the automotive or motorsport industry.
  • Performing tests using various test equipment including data acquisition systems.
  • Must have clean, valid driver’s license.

Preferred

  • Exposure to latest trends on vehicle autonomy
  • Automotive test instrumentation fitting
  • Trailer towing licence. (B+E)

The candidate should:

  • Be capable of working in a team-based environment to achieve common goals.
  • Be willing to work in the outdoors under inclement weather
  • Be able to carry heavy equipment (Manual handling training will be provided)
  • Be a determined individual, able to adopt creative and innovative approaches to overcoming barriers to success.
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be a self-starter and be able to execute designated objectives independently with little supervision.
  • Must be able and willing to travel, both inside and outside the UK, sometimes at short notice
Qualifications

HNC on automotive related subjects or equivalent
