As the successful candidate you will be responsible for performing electrical testing on a wide variety of military and/or automotive components and sub systems in accordance with various international or military standards and vehicle manufacturer (VM) test specifications. 

Working within the EMC Component Delivery Team you will ensure tests are delivered to schedule and to HORIBA-MIRA quality standards.

Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Testing automotive electrical components to assess their performance and durability against both international, VM or MIL specific requirements
  • Deliver directly to the HORIBA MIRA technical lead responsible for the customer project
  • Detailed reviews of test specifications and test plans
  • Executing the tests in accordance with H-M procedures
  • Maintain detailed and accurate log books and test records
  • Perform quality checks and analysis on test output
  • Customer liaison
  • Project manager liaison
  • Operations team liaison
  • Test equipment set up and strip down
  • Support double or triple shift rotas (pattern rotates each week)

Other information: 

  • Shift work is a prerequisite
  • Full driving licence prerequisite
  • Military clearance may be required

Experience

Essential:

  • Electrical Engineering background in automotive or military sector
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work with detailed technical documentation
  • Familiar with test measurement equipment & fault finding
  • Shift working

Preferred:

  • EMC knowledge
  • High Voltage experience
  • CAN/LIN diagnostics
  • Automotive electrical/mechanical background
  • DEF STAN 61-5
Skills

Essential: 

  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills 

Preferred: 

  • Good computer / IT skills 
Qualifications

Essential: 

  • ONC/D (BTEC Level 3) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Preferred:

  • HNC/D (BTEC Level 4) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (EMC Test Technician)
